My secret source says more. I tend to think way more vs a side pull, but the bare wire is not as good as a cable hugging the head tube. The amount of difference depends a lot on the speed. Meaning a 26mph test cannot be extrapolated to what will happen at 32mph.

Specalized does most the published testing and it is a replacement for their parts - I am a cynic.

Matt ain't doing a 40k on his tarmac. On a road bike, the cost/benefit of a what, $180 front brake is ridiculously high.

Again though, long socks. He might as well not shave his legs.

If any of you remember WJODonnell, IIRC he was able to do a 30mph 40k @ 360ish W. I believe he started by experimenting with coast downs to determine aero, and once he maxed that out he then went for the nuclear option and rented time in a wind tunnel.

Yup.

That said, even with as lazy as I am, I get in a lot of breaks. Not solo breaks, but a lot of breaks.

Bridging to them is hard, but I've done it. It would nice for it to be slightly easier.. hence this thread.

And for my 400m "sprints"; even a quarter-second is big when it comes down to a sprint. When I lost to Jan at Red Kite by like half a wheel, that was what .001 seconds?

That is a very clean bike. About the only thing stopping the wind is those brakes not being opened up.

Round bars.
Does not look UCI legal - if not, you can do much better.
New looking groupo and cables sticking out (looks more like 2010 DA gen I Di2 - so can't fault them, frames were not ready).
Stem rises vs parallel to ground.
Front skewer is not parallel to ground.
there is some kind of white cable in the middle of the bars.
Tape is too thick.
Di2 J box too prominent
Cranks - lottsa air in there.
More aero brakes avail using single hole (Tririg) Magura Hydrolic better, or in fork better yet.
Way too much valve stem extender X2
Zipp 404??
Big rear tire seat tube gap
external nipples (it appears)
what is that white thing over the front brake?
Hood/bar setup looks wrong for aero on-hood position.

Nab an off season Felt AR and some ultegra di2 (see Scott Giles's AR and compare to Ariel's Venge). Super clean, paired with the Ballista and the only thing you'll have to let you down are your legs.

Yea - tell me.
Which is it better?
A: to edit old post
B: add new ones.

I do both.

Strategic placement of grip tape, only on the logo/design.

I didn't even notice the round drop bars. My eyes were blinded by the paint job.

depends on who is doing the test, but I'd say the S5 or the AR

Scott's bike is so smooth but the biggest thing is how well he fits it. His back is super flat and he can easily fold his arms. When he is off the front he gets so aero.

Doge, look at the Weight Weenies forum. There is a long discussion on aero frames. That said, from what I remember reading in it, is that it's kind of unclear still which is best.
