One of the many disadvantages of having a whale manure-level FTP (260-ish) is that a lot of rides that are brisk for the stronger guys are damned near redlined for me. Longer rides and races are often >350 TSS; last Sunday I raced Rouge-Roubaix (105 miles) and I ended up with 410.

Yup. Monday was a painful hour at recovery pace with fast pedal drills, Tuesday was a rest day, Wednesday was two hours at endurance pace, Thursday was 1:30 at endurance pace with the middle 30 minutes at SST, yesterday was 1:30 at the low end of endurance pace, today was a two hour brisk group ride. Today was the first day my legs didn't hurt since last Sunday.

Yesterday morning was my final PT appointment, and boy did she work me over. Crippling DOMS in my glutes and hamstrings today. Still dragged myself over to my trainer and put in 1.5 hours with 3x20 tempo. CTL finally cracked 30, which is nice.

2.5 hours rolling terrain. Should have been 5.
The average of 5 days off the bike each week for the last month straight is getting laughably hard to sustain with new and interesting acts of self destruction. My only recourse has been seeing the amount of pain you other nuts are putting yourselves through.

I assume you tested at some point and it came out to 260-ish, but it could be that you're bad at testing..

After switching to the Zipp aero bars that have less reach & drop than my (non-aero) Rotundo's, I put on a 140mm -17* stem to get my hands back to where they were.
Sprint feels way more natural now, but the bars are a bit low. Maybe a 140 -6* would be better.. but I'll try to get used to this one for now.

I run a 140 and the height difference between a -17 and -6 is huge. I settled on a PRO Vibe 7s -10.
Just shy of 3 hours on a team ride. They refused to let me fight me and claw off the back in the wind until suffering the demoralizing realization they were no longer in sight. It hurt so I'm chalking it up as a success.

My fitter suggested I try going back to a 110 because I have a rather short torso for my height and he thinks I could probably go down a size in frame. (I'm not sure I really could handle the shorter head tube though.)
Anyway, I don't think I like it. I think I much prefer the 120 I'm running. Even thought it really has me stretched out, I feel more comfortable.
And I think the bigger issue is I ride differently on the trainer/rollers than on the road. I really noticed it during a race on Saturday. On the rollers and trainers, I tend to lean on the bars a lot, and I end up hunching my shoulders. But when I'm on the road going hard, I tend to get really low, roll my shoulders forward and completely relax my arms. And even though the 120 is really stretching me out, I almost feel crammed on the bike at that point. It's weird.

My coach followed up Saturday's thing with 4.75hrs + 4x15 SS and I am totally empty. I got in 45min in zone but couldn't bring myself to suffer through the final one. Don't tell the dude that knows your physical capabilities to crack you, he will succeed in doing so.

Stated lengths can vary widely. Offsets trend a bit closer between brands.
Frame design ultimately decides it, but if I could get by with a 110 it would really open up a lot of otherwise unavailable options. Frames designed around long stems don't have as sharp of handling with shorter ones though. Maybe your fitter knows something more than it looks like on the surface. At some point in the last 15 years a few UCI pros did fairly well with a positive rise stem instead of worrying about looking correct.

I put in 6 hours on the bike last week. My goal for this week is another 6 hours. Consistency, slow improvement, and weight loss are my goals. Currently about 180 FTP and 194#s. Heaviest I've been in my life and probably the weakest I've ever been. Full time work, Full time school, and getting married in 3 months will do that.

2.5 hours LSD because it was 60 whole Fahrenheit degrees outside. Which when taken in concert with 3-4 days of rain this week overruled taking a full rest day.
