not exceptionally long, no... but since that photo I have changed it slightly. That picture is the way I used to race it. I raised the stem 1/4" and rotated the bars up a little. I was beginning to notice the extreme-ness of the setup after riding my newest most modern geometry bike (Kestrel).
in general though, I'm still most comfortable stretched out with a flat back.

I just picked this up on monday, it is an '85 or '86 Bianchi Specialissima dressed mostly in Dura Ace 740x components:
It is in decent but certainly not show condition, some light rust that I need to take care of but the moving bits all function well and it rides beautifully!

Sadly no. The bike hung on a garage wall for 15 years and the battery was very corroded. I am going to clean it up and solder in new terminals to see if I can resurrect it. If not I will look for a replacement, I think that any 3x or 4x model will fit on the mount or I could even swap the circuit board into the celeste case (which is in fine shape). Got one laying around?

^^^ That is an awesome bike. Good thing it's too big for me, otherwise I'd have to deal with burning jealousy. So how much does a find like this cost? Hanging around for 15 years makes me think you got a sweet deal.

I think I got a great deal, $225. No idea what a reasonable value is but I bet that I could part out the components for more than that (I am not going to though). The guy that I bought it from didn't really know what he had, and neither did I until I got it home, but he was happy to make the sale and happy to sell it to someone who will ride it.

Sweet Record Ace, I just won a 2010 off eBay, and it's in the mail right now. How do you like yours?

(Just saw this...) I'm honored! The Peloton is done, but isn't a lot to write home about since it was a parts bin build. Soon though, it will get a face lift and be properly color coordinated. I will try to post current, (non color coordinated) pics this weekend. My other bikes have changed a bit, too.

Pics, as promised.
See if you can guess all the parts that don't match.
