Thanks. She's a humorist (was at the Lampoon when she was at Harvard) who often conveys real information humorously, aimed at people who don't know the subject, as an introduction. E-bike enthusiasts probably won't learn anything new about e-bikes; they can learn what The New Yorker thinks its readers may enjoy reading about. Those opinions may end up redounding upon the e-bike community, not necessarily fairly. Thus the value to them would be learning what others think.
