hit it with a couple of drops of WD-40, that should loosen it up

WD-40 is not a lube. The OP should use whale tallow for this application.

Yea I know it not a lube, but it will help loosen if there is something that is making it stick as it is more of a light cleaner, water displacer, and anti corrosion product. (not for chains, but lets not go down that rabbit hole), which is why I said a couple of drops to help loosen it

WD-40 is totally a lube. It's just that some liquids are better lubes than others.

What would you set it to if you could adjust it? I think 65 is a good pressure for bikes, the ones with skinny tires will suffer but probably won't break for most people. I run mine much higher, but thats besides the point.

just pump until the tire explodes and then pump less next time.

You could just set it to a number you like and then pump up your tires to whatever pressure seems best, regardless of where the indicator is.

42 is said to be the answer to the Ultimate Question of life, the universe and everything, so that’s a good number. Nearby you have 41, 43 and 47 which form a triplet prime. Or maybe 28, which is a perfect number?

BTW, my experience is that tire pump gauge readings are reasonably consistent, but not at all accurate. If you really want to know the actual pressure, you should get a good pressure gauge. OTOH, you can just note what the pump says and adjust until you know a number that seems to work. It probably won’t be accurate, but what does it matter?

By the way, the above post is not meant to be insulting. Post #55 is a really well-considered under-bridge question---feigned ignorance, fake faulty reasoning, ridiculous advice .... perfectly tailored to get responses.
@jetboy and @ofajen responded in way I would call correct. Entertainment appreciated.

A year or so ago, a Larry thread like this would be at 6 pages by now.

65 is a good pressure for me to pinch flat on the slightest of bumps.

Now we're all too cynical, demanding he entertain us, and we spend half the thread talking about talking about Larry, rather than responding, as we used to, with a mix of helpfulness and disbelief.

Several regulars are, ahem, on vacation currently, if you wonder why it's been so blissfully quiet around here. Another couple of weeks and the waters will be churning again.

If Larry was shirtless, smoking a joint at the bottom of an hill to race people up, we might have something.

I had not realized how many snarky people participate on this forum. I guess that they ran out of cats to torture.
