Stole my crankset in broad daylight!

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

uncrx2003,
As a junior member I can't send private messages but you can send me one. If you have that crank, message me with your email.

Correct.

OP, FSA cranks are notoriously junk so the guy kinda did you a favor. Time to upgrade now, although that does still suck, and I hope the crank breaks on the thief, and causes him harm.

The OP should set up surveillance on the bike to determine if it was indeed cats. If this is the case, NYPD is on the way wrong path in their intense bike thief hunt.

that's actually kinda funny

Maybe take it as a warning and feel lucky they didn’t take the entire bike? I understand its more fun to ride in on the BMC vs the commuter but if you cant bring it inside/a secure location its not the best idea. If I couldn’t take put my bike in the next cubicle over from me id never ride anything but my old steel commuter, but that’s just me.
