There goes Vockler. I really like that guy. So live and full of "take this chit now you mothaf...r!!!" You really don't realize how fast these guys are going until they put the view from above and you see it in relation to the trees and stuff on the road. Impressive to say the least.

Boonen, Why is it in grand tours anymore? Not a real sprinter, not a breakaway guy like Gilbert, Vockler, etc, not a real stage race guy, not a support/domestique to anyone. Why? Sponsor show or team filler? Oh, and I like the guy, but he is a spring classics guy!!

Exactly my point. He is very good a what he does, whether that is cocaine, 17 y.o. girls, or sprint classics. Why the embarrassment of doing grand tours?

Vockler is sadly going to run out of gas right before the end. You have to respect that kind of effort, skill, desire, and balls!!

classy to still be complimentary the team despite an apparent breakdown in tactics.

Cavendish picked his way through the chaos, grabbing wheels of rivals when Edvald Boasson-Hagen (Sky) tried to surprise the sprinters with an early sprint with 500 meters to go.
Philippe Gilbert (Omega Pharma-Lotto) was teeth to the wind and looked to have the win in his legs, but he told The Associated Press he couldn’t shift gears from his 12 to his 11, something the stage 1 winner said cost him the win.
Cavendish reeled past the Belgian and won for the first time in the 2011 Tour to bring his career stage-win haul to 16. Counting the Giro and Vuelta, Cavendish’s grand tour tally is an impressive 26.
“I love to win and the team gave it everything today to make sure I could get to the line first,” a happy Cavendish said at the post-stage press conference. “There are a lot of difficult finishes this year and not so many bunch sprints, so I have to make sure I got this one.”

I was watching yesterday's stage on Versus, and it was interesting to note there was about 25 seconds of showing the peloton slowing down and a bunch of guys taking a nature break...initially I thought there was a crash, but a bunch of riders just went to the side and did the old "twist and pee" maneuver.
The Versus team did not comment on this.

I liked that guy in the early breakaway today that adjusted the handlebars on the fly. Never seen that before.
