Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

There's a lot of places in this country that are very pretty. Thanks! And +1 to shaving.

those pictures are fantastic. Did you adjust the colors in photoshop, or do they come out of the camera like that? great!

haha did you grab the EXIF data?

Yeah, that's the camera, I did adjust them in photoshop slightly, just auto levels and a little saturation.

That last pic looks like East Circut Rd. in Schenley Park. Did it during Pedal Pittsburgh. That's one fun downhill if it is.

I lived and raced in Pittsburgh about 10 years ago and those images heading up Mount Washington brought back memories. Have you gone up Sycamore? =)

Beautiful day to ride, but those first few pics left me thinking that Pittsburgh didn't put any $$ into their road surfaces. They just shout "flat tire!" to me.

Nice pics. I'd make a joke about your legs but lots of people here know I don't shave mine either.

That hour of rain did suck, but last year it rained for almost the entire tour. It was also much colder last year, but hey that's why my friends, and I call it "Puddle Pittsburgh" instead Those early spring, May rides can be iffy as far as the weather goes. Man, the food after the ride this year was excellent. Probably one of the better post event meals I've ever been offered. I try to push the event on here yearly, but never seem to get any BFer's interested. Maybe your pictures will help show that we have a nice place to come visit, and take a ride around.

Want to know how many?

Of course you do!

Pittsburgh has 30 river bridges with an additional 29 river bridges within Allegheny County for a total of 59

Great pics, man. The next time I take a vacation and visit my folks, I'm bringing my road bike instead of my mountain bike. I know Schenley Park like the back of my hand on my mountain bike, but I've never ridden through it on a road bike - I became a roadie when I moved to Houston 5 years ago.
