Hello from SW Florida!

Hi Everyone! Passionate biker of all disciplines here - started off mountain biking in Flagstaff, AZ, have mtb all around SW Colorado and Utah, and have relocated to SW Florida. Obviously we don't have mountains out here, so road and gravel are now the name of the game. I'm starting off a restoration project of what I believe is an original 1957 Chicago Schwinn Continental.

Favorite Biking Memories: Biking blackhawk pass in Durango Colorado and doing the Coast to Coast Trail of Florida with my wife over 3 days.

Next Up: Can someone point me in the right direction to learn more about the Schwinn I picked up? The serial number is on the left base side of the head tube, here are some photos (oops not allowed to post photos). SN: 00099776

Welcome fellow Floridian. I am east of you in West Palm. New here as well.

I would go to the classic & vintage subforum and inquire there about your bike.

I would post a link, but they dont let me until I have 10 posts.

Welcome, from SE Wisconsin!
I too picked up a vintage Schwinn recently; mine's a 1972 Schwinn Varsity, in Campus Green. To me, it is beautiful. To many other cyclists, it's an old piece of heavy junk, hehehe.
Do a Google search of 'schwinn bike age by serial number' and you'll find what you need with a bit of digging. That's how I found out mine's from '72.
The Schwinn will be fun to cruise around on, but you will be amazed at the performance of a modern road bike. (and they can ALSO be comfortable, in the case of endurance road bikes)
Enjoy your stay!
