Garmin connect
On the garmin when checking you mileage, why do they go from the middle of one month to the middle of the next.
Thanks for any replies.

Where are you talking about? On Garmin Connect, the Reports for total distance you have 7 days, 4 week, 6 months and 1 year. If you are looking at 4 weeks, then they go back from today's date 4 weeks. If you wait till the last week of this month, your 4 weeks past will be entirely within this month.
I think part of it is based on whether you set your week start day to be a Sunday or Monday. But I might be getting confused with RWGPS or other site.

Thanks that’s what I was thinking. I was wondering why my mileage was different from Strava. I’m thinking about dropping Strava, but I haven’t made up my mind yet.

They have limited options how you view data. Is why I use RideWith GPS. If I want to view a calendar month I can. Garmin doesn’t get it is the bottom line.

On the Connect main page (dashboard), click on the + with the dashed lines around it to add a new item. Select Report from the flyout menu. For type of report select Total Distance. If you hover over a bar on the graph it shows your mileage for that time period. Set your time period for last 6 months or last year and you can see mileage by month.
Full disclosure - I usually use RWGPS to view my data.

I left Strava 6 months ago when they did a "re-due". It wasn't worth it anymore. I do miss some of the social stuffy but other than that nothing I can't live without.

I’m away from home right now but when I get home I’ll try that. I really never used rwgps.

Actually for me the most useful and frequently used mileage analysis on garmin connect is:
Connect/ reports/ progress summary / custom dates. Strava doesn't have that. At least not the unpaid version.

Strava proves its worth downstream from Zwift if you're training. I use Garmin Connect in parallel, but for "over time" perspective, I think Strava has the advantage (paid version).
