Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

167. I'm no longer unnerved. Curious though, to see how far it will go.

Do you have any other symptoms suggesting something might be wrong?

I am not a doctor.

Never done Diablo, but I did do Mt Hamilton on Jan 1, 2000. Millennium thing. Not terribly steep, but really long, plus there's a bit in the middle of the climb where you give up a couple hundred feet before having to re-gain it.

The descent was terrible - the last half mile of the climb was foggy, but while I was trying to get warm in the heated hallway of the post office (only building open) with a bunch of other crazy cyclists, the fog dcided to cover the first 3 miles. So there I was, all sweaty and soaked, descending in 30 something degree fog, so nothing would dry, but I was getting damn cold, AND most of the turns had gravel/sand at the apex.

Lesson learned.

I get a click when I turn the front wheel in either direction on my R3. I feel the click in the fork when it happens. Where should I look first?

it doesn’t seem to be cables

My R3 was doing that too - cleaned the headset bearings, when I trimmed the steerer, and it went away. Probably just a little gunk that worked in.

Speaking of clicks. When I turn my head to the right my neck makes a clicking noise. Is this the end of the line?

"I went to my doctor. I said, 'It hurts when I go like that.' He said, 'Don't go like that.'"

My neck was doing that a few years back, when I started up riding again in Spring. By Fall it had gone away, and hasn't returned.
