Hey! THANKS!
Built this in 16'. Front triangle 'mold is 'modular (?) So I can put a fat or plus rear triangle on it.
Just put a little shorter stem on it so I can wrap the bars and start hitting more trails!!!
I do build some FREAKY 'bikes'.
Apache 2.0 (road and Gravel wheel sets
29x 3.25 rear 2.4 front
And when the S get's really deep;
JM

I was out of the gravel game for a long time with having gotten into wilderness backpacking. But I moved to Tucson recently and have gotten the gravel bug again; this place delivers. This 650b converted 2016 Specialized AWOL has seen it all. Those are some of the widest drop bars on the market: 750mm Walmer Bar. Yesterday's ride up Reddington Pass east of Tucson, AZ. The high temp recorded on my garmin yesterday was 112F. This is an ill advised way to avoid crowds in regularly crowded spots.
Reddington pass
Gravel that apparently no one knows about just north of the reddington rd.

For The Kicks: Tucson East Suburban Gravel
A mix of easy singletrack & two-track on the east-side; Tucson as a gravel destination.
6" deep kitty litter in Pantano Wash
Riding in the cat box...
Catalinas
34t Wolftooth Drop-stop up front on a GX Eagle crank
In the back we have an e-thirteen TRS+ 11sp 9-46 casette
Case Reserve Park
I get a lot of questions about my bars. This is the 750mm Walmer Bar - as close as you can get to the leverage of flat mtb bars with a drop/road configuration. I stay mostly on the hoods. They are on a Redshift Suspension Stem +30deg 80mm to get my bars positioned close to where a riser flat bar would be. Max control on the loose stuff!

For those searching the forum for info on Vaast, I second OldCoot's recommendation. I build up an A/1 over the winter, have been riding it since the roads cleared up here in Minnesota. I really like it. I build it as a 2x (105 brifters, GRX 800 fd and rd, Praxis Works cransket). I'm riding 38mm Challenge Gravel Grinders with it. It's smooth, quick, responsive, soaks up road chatter. No complaints whatsoever. I did a three day bikepacking trip with it in May, leaving next week for a week long gravel bikepacking trip in northeast Minnesota. Rest of the build is Thomson seatpost and stem, PNW Coast handlebars, Juin Tech cable actuated hydraulic brakes, fizik aliante saddle. Just a great bike. With its environmental friendliness (enough magnesium in a cubic yard of seawater for the frame, melts at half the temp of steel for recycling), ride quality, stiffness (20% stiffer than aluminum) and weight (a few grams heavier than carbon), I don't know why more people aren't buying these.

From today's ride...summer at 7k' up in the Sierra. Rode out to a swimming hole that I used to hang out as a kid...the trail to it gets to be a bit much for a gravel bike(2nd pic,) but I was able to manage.
