FS: Austro Daimler SLE 57cm

Hate to move this one, but it feels ever so too big for me, plus I got an Superliecht from @hazetguy so Austria is checked off. Made of 531 (frame) and Puch captive Hi-Ten fork. Silver braze work is astounding.

Good condition overall, with a small ding in the top tube you cannot even see. It was a bit scratched when I got it, but I sourced nail polish that does a good job at 5 feet. It will convey. I did not want to ruin the rest of the paint and graphics which were too cool, so opted to touch up.

Frame measures out at
57 CTC seat (59 CTT)
57 CTC top tube
130 rear drops (cold set) so a modern wheel is ready to go. Eyelets F/R
27.2 seatpost

Tange Falcon HS conveys.

Frame/fork/headset/pinch bolt $100 plus actual shipping.

Soooo cooool, my size, awesome price, not yet sold? It is no wonder that I am “stuck” with nice bikes/frames that won’t sell.

Despite the market crashing AmCO escapades still think this is a good one at the price.

I guess I might have to build this up and find somewhere to make this a zero bike..., unless @gugie wishes to use it as an experiment... @AdventureManCO wants another competitor for the Huffente, @jamesdak needs something to hang some Superbe on, or someone figures out that the Nervar Star crank is pretty awesome!

I totally dig the color! I keep coming back to marvel. Such a great deal. But it’s too small for me and Mrs. Idaho just doesn’t understand N+1

Haha! Was just joshing. Cool frame though.

Besides, this would look like a rat rod compared to your stable...unless the 10 foot rule is invoked.

Components are spoken for.

Have a nice bronze group of Shimano 600ex that would go great with this one. Or separately. Pictures to follow.

Did you have it built up before? If so, did you enjoy it? Does it fit into your collection ethos? Questions I would also be asking myself.

Oh, it is definitely moving onward. I just thought I might try to build up and sell a few locally, even if at a loss.

It just so happens a few others moved ahead as candidates before this one to move on. A sweet 56cm Cannondale and a 1987 Cannondale for smaller folks. Ross Centaur that you would probably like, a few Mt. Bikes and cruisers.

its more about reducing further...without yet forcing a tough decision. These will be bikes that were destined to move on during the COVId student bike giveaway but I couldn’t keep up.

Id put frames up for sale/PIF but sourcing boxes is tough.

Yeah, it took me a while to source some boxes for the great giveaway. And a couple of the boxes were MASSIVE, so I had to completely chop them up to get them fit under certain dimensions, otherwise the shipping costs would have been ridiculous.

I wish you the best on the build! I'm hopeful for you that someone what has a real affinity for these bikes and this brand in particular will really take a fancy to it and will be the right person for it.

I previous me would have accepted your very generous offer, but now I'm more likely to think that I'd be taking it away from someone that could enjoy it far more. Lord knows, I've got more than enough projects as it is! The work will continue this weekend!
