Hello from Appalachia
Howdy,
Grew up riding BMX kids bikes, but was never really serious about bikes until my 30s. In 2015, my dad gave me his old Miyata hybrid that he commuted with when I was a kid. Put drop bars and knobbier tires on it and rode the crap out of it. It's been through many iterations, and is now sitting as a frameset in the shop. I like vintage lugged chromo bikes mostly, but I don't mind the aluminum ones. Right now, I'm rockin a '92 Trek 520, and a '97 Mongoose Hilltopper SX. I'd like to get into mountain biking which the Mongoose is for. I figure a cheap mountain bike to get started. I'm also building up a 2014 Nishiki 29er frame for my wife that I picked up for $10. That's the newest frame I've ever wrenched on and will probably ask questions about which parts to use.
