I have a Park tool that I've used for several decades with no problems. There are also 5 or 6 various makes in the drawer that I never use but I guess are JIC things since I never sell a tool.

I have similarly never had a problem with my park tool, but I don't tend to work with cranks that I haven't put on the bike myself with lots of thread cleaning and lubrication first.

This is key, when an inexperienced soul encounters one that has not been properly serviced and it goes south, the road to h**l is nigh.
