Don't put new pads in your helmet

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Whether or not you wear a helmet is directly proportional to the value that you place on the contents of your head. It's obvious what you believe....

Merlin- where did you even find new ones?

Yep, Sunday on the tandem, going into a turn in the high 20's. Front tire was going flat (which I discovered a little too late) skidded and that was it. Luckily only road rash, bruised ribs, and a mild concussion for my stoker.

Competitive Cyclist. I had an Ionos helmet, and the pads were falling apart. Debated getting a new helmet, decided it still had life and just needed the pads. Crashed on the very first ride with the new pads.

I remember when I was a kid and my father thought that changing those would be a better idea than changing the whole helmet. little did he know they were always falling off nor the glue sticked to some of my hairs and it was more annoying in the end than changing for a new helmet.

So Yeah, it's taunting the cycling gods.

But then I'd have to buy a new helmet every 6 months with the crappy pads the Decibel comes with.

Next time give Giro a call and they will send you a new set for free.
