Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

10.5 years here. I get to try to figure out how to support us during my retirement as well as her for all those years she will march on without me. Didn't think about that when I married her. She sure was cute though.

Best to check conditions closer to the time you want to go. If you decide to go beyond the village to the ski lifts (end of the road) it's 6000 feet up there, so more likely to get icy.

In a normal year I think ice is not likely in May. I'm sure I could get info from locals in May. People are going up there all the time.
Got it. Will tentatively plan to try, and will give you a shout a week ahead of time for update if there is doubt.

Any interest in joining me?

BITD I managed to pressure-wash hundreds of thousands of square feet of roofing in Oregon without peeing on the roof. Also spent a lot of time on roofs while painting. Must've been dehydrated.

Dad always hated paying others to do things he could do himself, so when the roof started leaking at a joint where the regular shingled roof intersected with a tarred section that had much less pitch, he had to do it himself, 20 feet up, with no fall protection (it was the 60s, he was in his 40s). At his invitation (and probably without Mom's knowledge), he invited me up to see it. I went up ONCE, but that sure seemed like a LONG way down!!! Especially to a pre-teen kid!

I neither peed nor puked off that roof.
