Attention riders: Show us your fastest classic steel work-out machine
Show us the lugged master piece you take out when you know the Saturday morning group ride will get intense, or the ex-pro racer nephew is in town, or you just feel like going fast and hard by your self.
Here's mine, Corsa Extra with 8 speed Chorus. It's my smallest frame, hence with the most aggressive riding position. Maybe that's why I get a sense of swiftness once I get into ride.

Bikes: a heavy old steel Frankenbike Gitane, a cruiser (not something I'd buy for myself, but it was a gift, what can you do?), a Greg Lemond, a Specialized Stumpjumper(old, steel, fully rigid), and a Specialized Safire

My 58cm Fuji Tiara is my fastest (and only current) steel ride:
I'm breaking personal bests on a closed loop with it, I think mainly due to two things 1) better fit than my Cannondale and 2) different technique. But...it's not the bike right?

This is my Trek 760 - I keep it because it is a snappy ride, but to be candid it's not much fun on longer rides because of the little frame. (Plus, I have to remember to keep by toes out of the front wheels turning radius.)

This one.
Just beat the thunderstorm on our ride back from Stillwater.
Just over 67 miles this morning. 19.1 mph average and I still got my rear end dropped.
Must have been the caramel roll at breakfast.

Well, I suppose I should choose between these two, although only one of them is lugged
You all have such beautiful bikes, by the way.

This one (upgraded to an 8sp Chorus/Record drivetrain,) but not for long... I am building a lugged steel retro TT/Tri bike. ETA a month or so.

I enjoy this one, not sure it is faster than my favorite Pinarello but it is fun, fast and comfortable, Centurion Ironman Tange 1:
