2009 Specialized Dolce Elite
Friend is looking for a first road bike, this came up on CL not too far away, 2009 dolce elite triple(3x9) 105 group set, looks pretty clean but haven't seen it in person, fair price depending on check out. Any issues anyone knows about with the carbon seat stays or...? Yes I know it's "women specific" but can work around that. I believe it has 25mm tires as oem maybe 28mm(preferred) will fit. What do you think?

If everything works and it's the correct size and gives the riding position your friend desires. And is at the price that your friend is willing to pay, then sure, it's a good bike.
You might consider that many today are going to wider tires than even the 25mm you think are on it. So be certain it'll take 28mm if that is what is desired because if it can't handle them, there isn't any way around that. They actually look like 23mm to me, but from a picture that's too hard to tell.
Also, those are old components, so make certain they work and aren't worn out. I never liked the looks of the cables coming out of the hoods. But if that doesn't bother you or your friend, then I won't be bothered if I happen to see one of you on it.

Not that it really matters, but that is a 3X10 Shimano 105 drivetrain. This is a very solid and dependable mid-range groupset If the bike fits buy it.
How heavy is your friend? A lightweight rider can get along perfectly fine with 25mm tires. If you're >=200lb then I would say you'd be best served with 28mm tires.
