S-Works Shiv - weight limit
Hello, welcome all,
I'm a rather big guy - 194 cm / 6'4" having 120 kg / 265 lbs of weight - unfortunately I've lost last season due to covid and I'm struggling to come back to my shape which advances but slowly. Now, I will be starting my trainings outdoors and I'm bit concerned about the weight limits of my gear. For the wheel set everything is fine - my Xentis Mark 3 allows 120 kg and I comply, but for the bike - 2017 S-Works Shiv the limit is set to 109 kg or 240 lbs, and I'm beyond. Manual says that this is either due to wheel restrictions (not my case) or Specialized branded weight bearing carbon elements. I'm aware that those limits are usually at least 20% less than actual capabilities to be on the safe side just in case, but I'm concerned if that refers also to pro equipment as in my case. What do you think?

meh, I was on carbon over 300 with a proper wheel set....I lived. Now at 40 pounds lighter I am still on my Argon 18 and it still has not exploded. I say ride soft and not jumping curbs and such and "ride on". You will get many other opinions but yeah, ride it.
