Does anybody know this bike?
Hi all, first time on here so please go gentle with me.
My dad recently passed and we’re in the process of clearing out his old workshop and found this bike in his possession.
There’s no electricity down there so excuse the poor quality but I was hoping you guys could shed light on what I have here. Is it worth doing anything with it or scrap? It won’t let post a picture as I’m just new. So any way, it’s red road bike and just has tornado and a chequered finish flag above and below. Nothing on the main badge area

Any other identifying stickers/decals anywhere? Any numbers stamped in the frame?
Could you write down model names of the components?

I would suggest posting this on the Classic and Vintage - What's it worth sub-forum. You can upload pics to a photo album in your profile for others to see. I don't know anything about them but from the one minute of searching I did, it appears to be an Italian brand. Whether it's worth something is heavily dependent on the components used, condition, etc.

Just the two stickers on the seat tube and down tube. I will be down the workshop tomorrow to see if I can’t see anymore details. I think it says Condor on the seat but it might not be the original 🤷♂️

Go to Gallery / My Pictures (top left of this page) and create an album and put your pictures in there.
Some kind soul will probably copy them to this thread.

Sorry for your loss! You have options get involved with active threads on the forum and you will get 10 posts easily if not many more and can post photos (though you might need to take it out of the workshop and into some light so you can get good photos or at the very least figure out whatever you can about it and type it here. Though I would recommend the Classic and Vintage What is it Worth subforum.

If that is the bike in question, either find a local group that rehabs bikes to give away to needy people, or scrap it. Zero value (or pretty close to it.)

I think it's worth more investigation:
And if you're going to move this thread just put it in "Classic & Vintage",
there's lots of "what's this bike" threads in there.
You'll have to ask a moderator to move it.
- looks like a 60's stem
- large flange hub on the front
number of gears
spacing on the back hub (outside locknut distance)
any serial number below bottom bracket or on forks ?

Looks like frame might be toast anyway. The TT appears to be bent behind the head tube. No FD or FD shifter, so most likely a dept. store 5 speed.

Does anyone know what this bike is?
Hi I’m new here. My dad recently passed and we’re clearing out his workshop and come across this bike that none of us know about. The photos are in my gallery as I can’t post photos yet. Thanks in advance

That looks like a 5 speed with Huret derailieur and cottered cranks.
I'm guessing late 50s - mid 60s, but I'm no expert.

Can you post one pic of the entire bike taken from the drive side?

Update: OK The Huret derailleur and Presta stem in the pic cb400bill just put up probbaly cancels the Japanese theory and Presta in a chrome steel rim? Very curious....
I found this pic from gumtree.com but the ad was long gone and there was no text with it. Looks like your bike in its heyday but definitely not a high end bike and only a 5 speed. My guess is a rebadged Japanese import from the bike boom era sold by some retail chain. The whole bike reminds me of a very low end C. ITOH that briefly cluttered up my garage many years ago.

If you were hoping for a grail bike of some elevated value, you will be disappointed. Stamped steel rear dropouts indicate low end frame and nothing special about components. In current condition not worth much and unless has some sentimental value, would not be worth the investment to bring it back into reasonable shape.

Perhaps Informative Picture Assistence?

appears a repair has been carried out in the area of the lower head lug
dating: the cycle's gear ensemble launched in 1974; doubt it could be much later
wheels are mismatched: rear hub is small flange steel and front hub large flange alloy - appear it may be Suzue or Shimano
it may be that the original front wheel was destroyed in the event which necessitated the frame repair
cycle appears it may have been contract produced for a chain store or distributor
best course might be to donate to a bicycle charity which can remove fittings they deem reusable and place balance in metal recycling bin

I'm sure there are some that will disagree -- there always are -- but that bike has crossed the barrier between here and the hereafter. Its Earthly struggles (and a bike like this struggled from new) have ended and it is ready for the GRB (Great Recycling Bin). Let it go in peace.
