Threaded triple tree fork
trying to figure out how to install a 1 inch threaded type triple tree fork on my project bike. how do i install the upper headset parts with the top brace of the fork assy? the top nut goes on top of the brace? and i'm guessing i have to add the thickness of the upper brace to my steerer tube length? i haven't bought one yet, just thinking about it...

You’ll remove the top brace to install the top headset bearing components, then install the top brace under the top nut like a spacer. I’d install everything but the top nut before marking and cutting the steer tube to be sure you get the length right.
