Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ick. Would not drink.

On a related note: was reading an article on Keurig coffee machines and it stated that the coffee works out to $40/pound (and a lot of non-recyclable plastic cups, too). And people make fun of me for spending $10-20/lb?

True, but half pots of coffee aren't poured down the drain either. It probably doesn't work out to be a good deal, but it isn't as bad as it looks at first. And you can fill reusable cartridges with your own coffee if you wish.

Or you can use one of these and fill with your favorite coffee. I do use the disposable ones when in a hurry.

Last of the parts for the Lotus arrived today. Buying parts without photos is frisky, but I like how its coming together. Should have photos this weekend.

I reuse half pots of coffee, doesn't everybody? Mixes in just fine with today's new half pot.

What is this "half pot of wasted coffee" to which you refer?

There is only a half pot of coffee when I'm half done drinking my coffee.
Everyone who knows me, knows I'm not myself until after the first pot

I don't pour any half pots down the drain as I brew one cup of espresso at a time.

As far as reusable cartridges... yeah, sounds nice in theory, but I don't buy it in practice. One, the current machine was designed to not take cartridges from other makers. Sure, you can get around it, but that takes some effort - remember that this is a machine that's marketed with a serious eye towards [strike]laziness[/strike] oops... convenience, so the user base, on the whole, probably isn't so inclined; this would be supported by the fact that the company pumped out almost 10 billion (yes, with a "b") of those non-recyclable cups last year.

I can only drink one pot, and even that is only up to the 4 cup mark. More than that makes me too wired.

I guess everyone just figured out they're getting a refund, though, because March business is booming.
Do animals have seasonal health disorders, like humans having more heart attacks at Christmastime?

...try to picture bringing in your own meds and supplies when you go to see your physician.

Truthfully, were you to bring a rim and assorted wheel stuff in for me to do it, I would simply quote you an inflated price for the labor, to cover any shortfall in the retail markup. Your best bet if you want to stick to controlling your prices and markup on bike stuff is to do the work yourself....crazy thought, I know.

I don't often say nice things to Billy, but Billy's photos are some of the highlights of Addiction. God knows there are a lot of lows here.

I am hoping so. My concern for where I am is that the snow we have now will melt/refreeze and make weekend riding a problem.
