Vintage Shogun Road Bike
Hey Guys
I've just bought a vintage Shogun bike that I know nothing about, and am struggling to find any info on. Could anyone give me an idea of what it's worth? No idea if it was a good deal or not - Pretty uneducated decision. Got it for AU$200.
Thanks for your help

Well this is a lesser entry level 80's built Japanes bike built with with some cheeaper components and what looks like fairly heavey wear and what looks like possible fork frame damage. To be honest I would say $75-100.

Still learning
+1 zukahn1 is spot on about the fork damage and possible the crunched frame as well. Also the turkey wing brake levers, suicide shifters, and stamped steel chainwheels are low end. Condition is extremely poor. Maybe $25 US as a parts bike.
Due to frame damage, I would not have bought that bike and of there is any way you can get a refund...............

I'm not sure what Tangaloy is but it sounds like a chromoly.........cant really tell if the fork is bent at that pic angle. If this bike were completely overhauled and ready to ride it would likely be worth around $150. Unfortunately it needs quite a bit of work.
If you have a local bike co-op in your area they would probably be willing to do a complete overhaul for you at a reasonable rate.

Dammit all... I see "Shogun" and I come running.. of course it's not a triple frame.
Looks like you're in good hands here, too bad about the bike.
More reminds me of Mangalloy from our Sekai's... throw in a trace or two of another metal and you have "fancy tubes".

It is hard to tell, for certain, that the frame and fork are damaged from the pics. It does appear that they are and closer pics could tell the story. If they are not damaged it is still only $50-$75 bike unfortunately.
