Another plausible-looking comfort conversion of a roadie. Seems like an oddball one-year model.

A late Le Mans RS, black and silver, 1x5 and flatbar converted, $60. Tangy! I'm tempted, it's not my size but it has a lot of parts I could use for my Ross project

This seems to confirm that; hmm, what the heck?

https://classicrendezvous.com/images/...ion_Equipe.pdf

EDIT: Looking through the photos, there's nothing there to indicate "Cinelli" anything. So, false advertising on the part of the ebay seller.

The bike in the ad is a 1970s Centurion Professional. If I'm not mistaken, I believe there was an earlier version of these, which were re-badged Windsor Professionals made by Acer-Mex in Mexico, and obviously modeled off Cinelli frames. I read somewhere that the builder for these Windsor bikes was a former Cinelli frame builder. I don't think they were actually marketed as a Centurion-Cinelli though.

The Centurion Cinelli Equipe in 1985 was made with Columbus SL and was an actual collaboration betwen Cinelli and Centurion.

The Windsor bikes weren't tange, they were, I think, 531. It definitely looks a lot more like a 70s bike, and an imitation 70s cinelli, than mid-80s.

Yes, that was the earlier version. Then Centurion went to the Land of the Rising Sun for their builds, obviously retaining the general design style for the Professional.

The seller of that bike would have been more correct to call it a Cinelli-style Centurion Professional (generally correct) or just a Centurion Professional (most correct).

Interesting...

So what happened was:

The Cinelli rip off Windsors had a connection with Centurion, who sold them under their branding...

They then used the same lugs/design and built them with tange...

And 7 years later or so, formed a partnership with the actual Cinelli to make Centurion Equipes.
