Yellow Bianchi Identification Help
Can you please help me identify this Bianchi. Has a nice chromed sloping fork and rear dropouts.
Sorry I don't have any other picture. Bottom bracket stamped 1985 454c58.

Hard to say for sure (and I'm definitely not an expert) but but that looks quite close to a Bianchi Mondiale according to the 1985 Catalog. Fork crown, groupset, seatstays and stem shape all look like a match to me. I'd bet it was also repainted judging by the lack of columbus stickers or dots on the 'i's in the Bianchi decals.
To make things more interesting, some speciallisimas from the era also look quite similar. Interestingly, these tend to have the pump peg is present on the head tube though I'm not old enough to know if that was something that could be ordered.
Can't post URLs so here:

Maybe someone with more Bianchi knowledge can chime in but to me the Specialissima looks a bit more high end. My guess goes to it being a Mondiale.

Hopefully the following pictures will give some more insight into the model. The year 1985 is on the bottom bracket and C58, 454. The size is 58.
Other marking are: B on downtube/headtube lug and on the BB nondrive side, scripted Bianchi on the top of the seat stay.

From what I can tell, the 'B' on the head tube lug, the 'Bianchi' on the seat stays, fork crown, headtube decal, and Super Record groupset all match up perfectly.
It's also got the special Centenario bottom bracket meant for the 1985 Centenario celebrating Bianchi's 100th Anniversary. From my research early 1986+ Specialissima X4's could be found with this BB (with the '19' in 1985 milled off), but it's quite uncommon to see an X3 with it. On that note, it's likely not a Centenario, since they were only offered with C-record groupset and actual headbadge afaik.
Same thoughts still re: paint. I don't think any Specialissimas were offered in yellow.

LarryBSky sorry I’m late to the party. The BB shell is stamped 1985?
Where did you get this? The forkcrown and stay caps look later than ‘85 and Bianchi did offer two yellow bikes, the ‘86 Vittoria and the ‘87 Superleggera. Neither show chrome on the crown but that’s something that might have changed after the catalogs were printed. Too bad the tubing decal is missing
