Thanks. We camp at CHSP often and bike over to Rehoboth to hit Revelation or DFH when we get the time. The trail around Gordon’s Pond is a nice relaxing ride. I don’t envy the highways near Bethany for riding…tourons get worse every year!

We live in Felton but work in Wilmington so quite the commute. We are hitting Lums for the start of our camping season in early April and hope to try out the new bikes there that weekend.

thanks everyone for the welcome!

Got a long weekend tour planned for CHSP over Easter: Made my reservation last month as the place was filling up fast.

Thursday: Train from Philly to Woodcrest in NJ then ride to Belleplain State Forrest in Woodbine, NJ
Friday: Woodbine to the ferry,
Saturday: Probably a day ride to Rehoboth for lunch via the trail system
Sunday: Back to NJ and north to Atlantic City for the train home. I will probably ride available trail to Cape May Courthouse and head to the coast at Stone Harbor then up to A.C.

Looks like we are taking the ferry eastward on this upcoming Saturday morning to hit up a couple places in Cape May and then back westward to Delaware in the afternoon. I think we are only looking at 25 miles so nothing epic like your weekend plans, but still good for getting the feel for the bikes.

I did my planned trip once back in April of the mid-2010s. I had never been to CHSP before but had heard so many good things about it. Really enjoyed the place. Weather was a bit on the cooler side, but very sunny Saturday and Sunday. Easter itself was chilly and drizzly. Rode north into a headwind heading to A.C. I was so bushed when I got to Ocean City that I seriously considered getting a room for the night. But I found a sea food/fish fry place that was open and replenished my energy with grilled ahi bites and fish and chips. Now I have say "Never underestimate the recuperative powers of friend food and tartar sauce." It has come to the rescue a few other days since.
