Rigid fork length for modern GT Avalanche

It lists the fork as 100mm travel for 650b wheels. I'm wondering if the old White Bros 465mm fork would be close enough.

Disclaimer: REI has them on sale for about how much dividend/credit I have so I was thinking of getting myself a modern/slack mtb, but I have always hated suspension forks.

This is where shopping in the brick and mortar store makes sense. Bring a tape measure and measure away. Don't forget to account for sag. Of course the right thing to do next, assuming the numbers work for you, is to buy the bike there and maybe see if they can source the fork for you. Andy

where is the 465? from axle to inside crown?
We can guess but it's only a guess. a 650b wheel is a known radius. half that radius, to the axis is approximately 300mm from the edge with a 12mm lip on the rim
so, just a guess, but you will have about 165mm left over. is 165mm enough? that's up to you.
