Where have I been without a fixie? It was wonderful. The smooth acceleration and overall control of the bike is outstanding, and the pure simplicity of the bike. For instance, no messy gears, only one brake could be run up front, one simple chainring, and I could go on. I was almost tempted to sell my trek fuel for a fixie.

Now you get to be one of those people who tries to describe what it's like, and end up sounding pretentious. "It's like... you just... have more control! You have to try it to know, man."

That's too bad you had to ride a 19.3 lb fixie, cuz once you get below 19.2 lbs is where you really start to see significant increases in simplicity.
