Does anyone know if they sell a double chamber water bottle? I like to drink propel water when I ride but I also need to drink plain water and I dont want to have to carry two water bottles.

Kind of a cool idea (even if they're not carbon). I take two bottles, one water, one gatorade. Takes me an hour in the Texas heat to finish them both. I refill them at the convenience store and drain them again before home. So what is that...88 oz. of water for a 30 mile ride...and I still lose a couple pounds of water weight in sweat. eeeeewwwwwwwwww.

Why not carry a second bottle? Weight weenie?

If all you need is one bottle your hydration needs aren't significant enough to worry about whether you're drinking a sport drink or water anyway. ....looking for a solution to a non-existent problem.

Even if you only fill them half-way, what's the big deal about carrying two bottles?

To all the people who have been giving me grief about two bottles. The reason I cant use two bottles is because two water bottle cages will not fit on my bike.

Seatpost water bottle cage? You really should carry more than one bottle, especially if you ride for more than one hour.

you can always get clamp-ons if you feel the need.

I've fitted 4 on my classic, 2 on the frame and 2 on the seat area.

I am probably going to get some grief for saying this but I will say it anway. I recently bought a back pack hydration system similar to a Camelback and I like it!

I drink more water than I did when just using bottles. I am using one by PolarPak called a MoFlo that is pressurized so the water comes up without sucking on a tube. I may also carry a bottle of liquid with electolytes in it like Motor Tabs.

I don't notice the weight on my back at all.

the problem is never having less fluid... if you only need half a bottle of water and half energy drink than you you aren't going long enough to need the energy drink.

I have never thought, "man, I need LESS water!"

I use a Camelbac on longer rides. I don't notice the weight either. Who cares what other people think? Hydration is not exactly optional, and two water bottles won't get me through a long ride in the sticks.

Um you can carry a water bottle in your jersey pocket as well.

And like the others said, if you only need 1 bottle you are definitely not riding enough to need propel, gatorade, etc.

1. There's a company out there that makes two water bottle cages that are "welded" together so they fit on one braze-on. The second cage is "stacked" on top of the other so it's the same width as one cage. Don't remember the company, but I found it once after some Googling last year.

2. Twofish makes a cage that secures anywhere on your frame via a velcro/rubber block system. I used this to put a cage on my downtube when I needed three water bottles.

3. As said elsewhere, put the bottle in your jersey pocket.


The Amazon reviews on that dual chambered bottle were pretty awful.

I bought a 2Litre camelbak clone from Target cost $19.99 works great for a longer ride.
