Crankset Recs
Hi all, I'm thinking about upgrading my 93' Karakoram BB to external BB. What crankset can people recommend? Looking to build 1x8 or 1x9 speed.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Is your BB shell 68 or 73? Price and gearing matters a lot on what I'd do. I've currently got a cheapie ganopper https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...e?ie=UTF8&th=1 Its a chunky and not very light crank but this is its second season running single speed cross and the BB has held up well along with the rest of it. If I was shooting for something better to start with I'd look at something like the rival crank unless I was going for a mtb style and then I might look at the suntour aion. Higher than that I'm looking at the campy ekar crankset, currently been finding them on sale for 230.00 depending on length and gear, if a 73mm bb shell I'd probably look at a shimano SLX or XT crank.
I'd agree with SoSmelly, might as well look to a 10sp group or even 11sp. Microshift offers a decent 10sp drivetrain that's affordable though no crank availability that I know of though any 1x crank will probably work with it.
