Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Anybody Have Insight on GRX 2x Bike?

Is anybody here running a bike with a 2x GRX setup?
I found this on Bikesdirect:

https://www.bikesdirect.com/products/motobecane/gravel-bikes/gravel-x-pro-hydraulic-discbrake-gravel-bikes.htm

Seems like a decent bike for the money..

It's a $50 frame with GRX parts put on. Nothing special. You paying more for the GRX parts than the rest of the stuff.

BD will hang an Ultegra derailleur on just about any hunk of metal and call it a deal...

As far as GRX 2x, I have it in Di2 on my gravel bike and like it.

Looks like a decent bike for the price. Tiagra level components.

I have three BD bikes and have no complaints about any of them. Aluminum, aluminum with carbon seat stays, and Titanium.

My next touring bike gearset upgrade is likely to be GRX 2x11 with a mtb front mech/chainset, and a 11-40t cassette for extra range.
In reality, its mostly just 105 2x11 with some tweeks, except for that glorious clutched rear mech ... mmm

I've been using a GRX 46/30T on an otherwise Ultegra Di2 drivetrain, and it works great. (This is for my on/off-road/gravel bike.)

My touring bike has an XT rear derailleur at the moment. I found everything worked much better when I removed the clutch from the derailleur. It is mainly for keeping the chain on a 1X front chainring; reduced slap is a byproduct. It made shifting into the larger of the two front chainrings (a WI 46/30T) harder, and the chain gets so stiff it makes it artificially hard to pedal. There is a primitive adjustment -- a bolt that squeezes a piece of metal wrapped around a pivot -- but it is prone to slipping off. Not Shimano's most impressive design (and my problems were with iteration #2 ).
