shimano downtube shifter help
Hey everyone, I am new to the whole cycling world. I just bought a schwinn traveler. I think it's a 1988 model since the badge has the number 1128. I was riding when I attempted to shift the front gears(by the pedal) and broke the cable and the shifter flew off into the street. I was able to retrieve the shifter but not the little end cap. The shifter is the shimano sl-s434. I've been trying to find the same shifter online and can't seem to find one. Can anyone help me in finding a good replacement shifter?

I assume your are talking about below. You could get almost any shifter for the left if you aren't particular about
matching. Otherwise there are some Shimano 6 speed that come up on ebay once in a while.
