Shimano M747
I am looking to replace my frogs with a pedal that has less float and a more solid feel. I grew up on frogs and loved them until I spent the last five years strictly as a roadie that fell in love with shimano dura ace pedals and the solid feel they have.
It seems that the M540 is the go to pedal but I found a used pair of M747 with a new rebuild kit for $25 locally, plus I could swing a deal for a pair of sidis too with the same seller. How do you guys feel about this deal? The M747 is supposed to be bullet proof. I am not too concerned with weight but I want a pedal that is very solid in holding me in (I want to bunny hop with no worries) and will last a long time.
Cheers.

The PD-M747 is the top of the line pedal when it was first introduced. I have been using them for many years and have no problems. They are made in Japan unlike the current XT pedals that are made in Malaysia which have rust spots on the spindles after a few months of off-road riding.

Thank you. Unfortunately the axle on one of the pedals had a lot of play in it so I passed.
