I just got a wheel the other day and I'm looking at it, and I notice what appears to be a cut or a crack through the entirety of the rim. See attached photos.
I've never seen a wheel like this before, but I haven't had many wheels. The crack/cut appears to be perfectly straight, almost as if it were machined that way, and it appears precisely where the Cliffhanger badge is, equidistant from 2 spoke holes. This makes me think that it's part of the design of the wheel... but I really have no idea so I figured I'd ask here. Is this bad, or is this normal?

Until welded joints and machined brake tracks became SOP about 15 years ago, this is what ALL rims looked like. The pinned joining technique is still used, especially on lighter rims.

Thanks guys! Haven't seen a seam in any of my other rims. This puts my mind at ease.
