Didi the Devil at the Tour
Somehow I thought I'd at least see a glimpse of him at some point during the race but the only places I saw him were on Instagram! Anyone else a fan?

He used to get more airtime but when he picked up a sponsor they stopped showing him very much.

I did not know he had a sponsor? I don't see anything on his costume!

I don't think that was the same guy that has been at the Tour for the past 25 years I've been watching. Many years ago, commentators mentioned he was having health problems and took a few years off. My bet is that the original is no longer alive and the guy that was there this year is a completely different person carrying on the Didi tradition, hopefully with the permission of Didi's family.

It's still the same guy. Didi Senft. Had some health issues but seems to be over them. Auto parts manufacturer LUK is his sponsor.

He keeps saying that every year is his last year. I imagine there will be people who want to imitate him in years to come!

well, I guess I was completely off base. I remember watching him 20 plus years ago and thinking he wouldn't be able make another year. Glad he's still kickin'.

cb400bill Isn't that pic from 5 or 6 years ago?
I thought I saw Didi as a spectator and not dressed up at this years TdF. I did see a few imitators.... poor ones at that. And they weren't nearly as old as Didi.

I didn't see him, but saw several people dressed up in a similar outfit. I honestly thought the guy had passed away.
