That bike has been floating around in different circuits for a while. I'd have thought that with all of the advice it seems he's been given, he woulda stepped his ads up a bit...

Yeah, I agree, there is a little too much flaming with this post. My problem is that I love Raleigh's and I always get this moment where I'm super excited about the add, but I click on it and realize it's the same bike (AGAIN). The seller posts it about every second day. What is it even worth? I mean, it's not a numbskull post, is it? I thought the bike was kind a cool! Too bad it's a ladies frame! Even the lady bike builders I know don't like the ladies frames (for the most part). Who cycles in skirts anymore anyways?

Raleigh Marathon bike for sale. This bike is owned by a guy who's blog I follow. He's in Tucson. It's got a 69 cm frame; he calls it "Big Sexy". If you're interested, I guess, contact him through the blog.

I hope that it's not Old Bike Trader -- don't know if he's in Rickmansworth or not -- but I've ordered Sturmey-Archer parts from him before, and I'd like to be able to continue doing that!

I have one like that bought long ago, and it's a piece of dung compared with the beefier Suntour one that I got more recently. 'Course if you like old boxes . . .

Anyone know what year/make this is by the colors? I'm going in the morning to check it out

it's a 56 cm, which is the size I've been looking for to compliment my monster 61 which is a little too big

sweet thanks, yea i had forgotten about the brochures online, narrowed it down to 82 or 83, after that they stopped doing the panels.

either way if its rust free I'm gonna get it, strip the components and convert to single speed for commuting
