FWIW, it still opens for me. Maybe the seller is, shall we say, discriminating about who gets to see this frame.

Of course, if the idea is to keep the riff-raff out, by letting me in they have failed miserably.

Okay, I figured it out. Once again, the forum software totally messes things up. Originally, I just entered the four URLs, with a CR between. The URLs were totally hosed, so I added some more blank lines. It didn't occur to me that the totally hosed up text was also internally a totally hosed up URL. I just edited my original post to repair the damage. Hopefully it works okay now. Pro tip: In these situations you have to view the BBCode source to see what's wrong.

Trek 500 Tri Series, $85, Milwaukee FB

Looks like an '86, 22.5" or 24" frame. Should be Reynolds 531 DB.

not sure if this is 3 tube Columbus. I think so. Nice components. No drive side pic but we know it has Nervar cotterless crankset.

I think it might be a tad big, but we’ll see. It looks nice I’m anxious to see how it compares to my Volpe. Love the fork.

from ad: "In 1993 Specialized released its last high-end lugged steel bike, a new version of the Allez designed by ex-Strawberry builder Mark DiNucci. He went so far as to specify a custom tubeset and to design a set of lugs specific to this bike. He traveled to Asia to teach factory workers to braze to the standard he wanted for these builds. 8-speed Shimano 105 groupset. Rear spacing is 130, you're free to restomod at will. Look pedals."

and not only "partnered with" he's built them all in his own shop, using (some) equipment he bought from Albert Eisentraut.
He's rightly known for top-notch paint, but he does it all.

He's rightly known for top-notch paint, but he does it all.
Ed learned frame building from Bernie Mikkelsen. He built Rainbow 'Trauts with Albert Eisentraut (they each built under their own names at time, too). He's done a lot of warranty repair work for Bianchi, and a lot of repair work on all kinds of top-name frames for individuals . He has built and sold some gorgeous frames under his own name. He was involved with at least one joint venture with Bruce Gordon (they were good friends). Last year, he built a new fork for my Cinelli after the old fork dropped dead, and it is perfect. And he's a top-shelf painter. I'm 100% sure this is nowhere near all of his bona fides, but you get the idea.

Ed Litton does it all, as unworthy1 says, and does it all very well. You can bet that the bike that is listed above was built right and will ride pretty much exactly the way the original owner wanted. Whether that works for you is a different question, but that is always something of a risk when buying someone else's custom frame.

So why isn't he better known? Because Ed is not much of a self-promoter, simple as that.
