The Trek bike I bought at the end of September rose $30 to $3179 today. A slightly less than 1% increase.

I noticed that the FX1 rose yesterday by $20 ($630 to $650, +3%) and the FX2 rose by $30 ($750 to $780, +4%). I made the hasty assumption they raised by their prices by a percentage within a range but it appears it was by a low dollar amount. Maybe it's simply to cover elevated shipping costs for assembled bikes and all their bikes cost roughly the same to ship?
Additionally the FX3 similarly rose by $30 to $930.

I ordered my wheels before the price increase, so now I am just waiting for them to come in.

The same is true in the reverse -- demand doesn't have to go down for there to be a market price sag. If there's a gut in supply amid a constant demand, you've got more products than people to buy them, and the price will necessarily go down to entice more buyers and keep the inventory moving.

Not saying it's necessarily the same reason, but at my company, where we import finished goods from China, a year or two ago it was ~$7K to bring in a container of goods, whereas our recent containers have costed ~$22K and up. When we do the math, spreading that cost throughout the product mix, it led to a price increase on those goods we resold. An increase of... ~3%.

So I got my wheels last week and I ended up having to pay the difference between the price when I ordered them and by the time they came in. What I found out was that the price increased twice, so the LBS and I split the difference even though I paid for wheels at the time. What I did not know at that time, the day I ordered them was the first price increase, then they increased the price again, in Oct. Owner is not super happy with Trek right now.
