can you revive a e bike battery by shorting battery briefly?
by briefly shorting battery contacts will it revive a weak battery?

it would depend on the battery; if it's lithium ion, no. If it's lead acid, you can try using a battery desulphator, but shorting the battery contacts manually won't do anything to my knowledge.

Hard to imagine anything GOOD to ever come out of intentionally shorting a battery. If it has real high draw support, plasma....if it has a good internal BMS, you might well destroy the BMS (but save yourself from an explosion).

"shocking" a battery works for certain chemistries. I know people do it for nmih. Shocking requires a higher voltage. The mechanism is to put a high current through shorted cells. I think the only way to fix a lithium pack is to replace the bad cells. People take multiple packs apart and reassemble with only good cells. Plenty of people looking at this, I would do a search.

With certain car/marine batteries, especially deep cycle ones, they refuse to charge if they get low enough. The reason can be the charger sees them as stone dead and refuses to charge. The trick is to hook them in parallel to a good normal battery, and then charge them together.
Also, for car batteries, expensive "intelligent" chargers can sometimes charge a battery that other chargers can't. In addition, a sophisticated digital battery tester can quickly tell if a car battery is scrap or not, and save you a lot of effort; I don't know if such a digital load tester exists for e-Bikes, but if it does not, someone really should produce one.

Throw it in the recyclers bin. To most people batteries are expensive mysterious sealed boxes and they look at them, thinking about how much they cost, and imagine that with a little tinkering they can bring them back to a useful state. The only time I have ever had success with this is in bringing back Lipo's that have fallen below the minimum voltage allowed by their internal circuits (if fitted) You have to know what you're doing, you can't exceed the maximum voltage for the pack and type of Lithium, but I have been very successful in this with laptop batteries.
