Terry bicycles?

Hi all,
I have heard of the company Terry who sells women's saddles, clothing, etc. but am not sure if this is the same company who sold the Susan B. bike? Here's an example that I'm considering purchasing to help me get up the hills near my house and for a commuter time trial next month (I just hope to finish, not get a speedy time; it's for charity)...any insights and opinions? Thanks so much!Serial #:

Hi there, yes it's the same company. I've built a few Terry bikes for female friends of mine and have been impressed with their construction and component specifications, overall, great bikes! I don't know when yours was produced but I do know Waterford built Terry bikes for sometime. The bike you've shared looks to be a more modern (by C&V standards) example, maybe a mtb or cross bike? If the bike is affordable and fits you, I say go for it!

Thanks so much for your speedy reply. I was checking it out at the bike co-op I volunteer at but it wasn't fixed up then. Time for a test ride!

Terry made/makes custom handmade bikes and production bikes (like this one). She is known for varying tires size to match frame size and used 700c on the back and 24" on the front of many of her road bikes to make them a better fit for women. The Susan B. above does have a Terry "Liberator" woman specific saddle. Here is her website https://georgenaterry.com

My wife has 3 Terry bicycles and enjoys them. The Terry saddles are on most of my wife's other bikes too. Terry made bikes that fit smaller women much better than most brands.

She builds for men also. Kind of like Zinn, who specialized for tall people but would custom fit anyone.

They have a men's version of the Liberator as well. I found one at a yard sale for really cheap and liked it, so whenever I saw another, I grabbed it. I now have three of them.

She is one of my heroes, an engineer who is passionate about bicycles and bicycling. She can barely walk because of the childhood bout with polio, but her first bicycle liberated her by giving her mobility. She reminds me of one of my former customers 40 years ago at Bikecology. He limped in, saying, "I have a fused right ankle, but I can ride like hell." ... and he could ...
