What jobs do people commute to?

Just curious about what sort of jobs people are commuting to, desk job or something more labor intensive.

Depends on the time of year. I am a historian (for now, may be finding a new job soon) at a local museum. Mostly a desk job, but when tour season picks up it can get interesting. I'll bike 5 miles then lead groups through a 2 1/2 acre building, 3-4 times a day. I also work as a life guard/aquatics supervisor-glorified desk job.

CAD tech at a semiconductor manufacturer. From talking with the other bike commuters here, most are engineers, although I seen a few of the fab workers riding in now that gas is so high. So most of the riders have have desk jobs. We also have showers at work which makes longer commutes doable.

Software developer. Though I work for an association that is all about the outdoors... And I have windows. Sometimes I even have to get up from my desk to operate the blinds. So you know... Kind of a desk job with occasional "field" work.

Wildlife biologist with an environmental consulting firm. Most weeks I'm in the field 1-2 days. I love getting outside, of course, but it means less days biking to my office!
