Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Particularly ironic, since WVA refused to join the Confederacy out of sheer Ulster Scots, backwoods orneriness, which is deserving of a certain pride.

Of course, there's also some likelihood that I'm inflating/conflating that non-zero number with the prominent Trump stumping.

Same thing here, except we (East TN) didn't literally become a state because of it.

Peoples are so bad at history.

2020 miles - 3,660
2021 miles to date - 3,148

It's not looking likely that I'll match last year's number.

The last couple nights I've been sleeping 8-4, in large part because our internet is so bad that that's the only time I can see videos, or even pics It also gives me a jump on the day. Today I listened to the beginning of the French Revolution, via 'Tale of Two Cities' from 4-6, and was ready to jump into the day at 7. Of course the wife had other plans and I hope to make that leap after an early lunch.

I signed up with intervals.icu just now, since all the cool kids seem to be doing it.

Total mileage ytd: 5391 mi, 285,482 ft
Outdoor: 3604 mi, 203,367
Indoor: 1786mi., 82,115 ft

Just counting real road miles, this is more than my best previous year ever, and it's still only mid-November, with 6 Sundays left. Of course, I'll probably lose a couple of those to rain. Still, I'm pretty stoked!

Unless it's an unassisted push mower.

Maybe.

Made an appointment with a specialist for the second. They already called me back, to inform me they took a look at my X-rays from my crash with the sign and she thinks it is highly likely it’s related.

This will be added to my claim. Did I mention I was angry.
