Colnago MTN Bike - Should I..?

I can buy this Colnago mountain bike for next to nothing. The guy just wants it gone. I would strip the components and just take the frame/fork back to Canada.

But I just don't need another mountain bike, as I am really looking forward to street restoring this old Devinci that I got at the dump last summer...

However, if anyone wants to act fast, I can facilitate the Colnago purchase, assist in packing and help to get it shipped. If anyone is Truly interested, let me know in a pm.

OH MY! Is that a Campanutella U brake? That would be so cool as street bike with some 1.5 slicks on it. Sadly it's huge

I understand your dilemma. I recently acquired a '90s Colnago cyclocross from a friend who moved to Hawaii. She gifted it to me, so as I said to my wife, I have to keep it until either she or I die as the bike is dear to her. I moving towards using it as a gravel bike as 700x40s fit easily.

I’m used to old mountain bikes with long head tubes being REALLY big. If it fits, rock it.

vintage mtb.

unique Colnago but maybe over abused as it was meant to be.best part of the brand IMO is their paint finish.maybe a candidate for complete custom fade refinish? the deVinchi would be nice with a full m900 build.snag it & put it aside for a rainy day when your stuck in rehab.

Needs a bit of love but I could see that being a complete restoration. Not sure what that would have gone for retail when it came out but it's got to have some wow factor when you take it down to the cafe.

Checking with a local friend who loves beating hardtail lugged MTBs like this on our local trails. Will let you know, Randy.

EDIT: He passed. I tried!

I am going to see the fellow tomorrow. If the price is really low, I am going to buy the bike (sans wheels), strip the components and take it back to Canada with me. Not sure how to ship from Jamaica. Once stripped and good to go, I will get back to this thread. I did, for another forum member, check shipping costs. Wow! Again, gotta wait until back in Canada. Sorry to get homes up and, while I am at it, this is up for grabs also...
