Only slightly off topic. This guy says his athletes are getting big improvements in VO2max. It's the first time I've heard of this type of training being used for this.

That would seem to be very much ON topic and quite counterintuitive. Thank you very much for posting it.

This is exactly what my coach has me doing, and I didn’t really know why.

What type of volume is required for it to be effective....or are positive results in Vo2 routine with lower intensity regardless?

I can’t answer that question.
For me I guess til coach tells me to stop.

I did get in trouble today. He found out I’ve been blowing past my HR budget climbing the hill to my house.
im not allowed to bike home any more. I have to drive the bike to the bottom of the hill and drive back up again at end of ride.
you can’t make this sh stuff up !
