I haven’t used this bike in a while. It was a cheap craigslist pickup a few years ago. Tubes no longer hold air. Tires are still in ok shape, they were replaced when I picked it up originally.

I cannot find anything on the bike that would be definitive for a model. Searching images it looks like the Getaway V or Stowaway V. Can’t post an image due to 10 post rule.

I know very little about repairing bikes and want to do the repairs myself. Just need some help getting in the right direction.

Read the size of the tire printed on the tire and replace with the same size. An example might be 20 x 1.75 or 16 x 2.125. First number is overall tire size and second is tire with. Roger

Thanks. I think I got the size. I’m assuming I would just get tubes that fit that size.

What I’m unsure about is what type of tire/tube to get? Are they all fairly similar or do people here have recommendations for folding bikes or older Dahons?

Because changing a tire is an extremely low level activity and any advice given here should be accompanied with illustrations, hence the advice to consult Youtube.
Regarding tire brand, etc.

Maxxis makes some good tires.

Please for heavens sake give us more information, is it 16 or 20 inch.

For changing the tires sure.

Im more interested in what to buy. Or is it as simple as just ordering any tire and tube that fits?

The Wall (from a different supplier) is unfortunately no longer in production.

Just general riding. Concrete, asphalt, typical city.

The bike is fine other than the tubes. A bit rusty, but doesn’t affect the bike functioning.

Rust on a frame is a somewhat terrible idea/thing.

Take care/put the rust on the extinction list.

You might as well take a look at the chain, rest of the drive train, etc.

Photos seem to show somewhere around 16 inches but it's a really old model. The rim width will also affect tire selection.

If you're just replacing the tubes, then match to the tire size (sounds like you've got that) and notice whether the old tubes are shrader or presta valves (they'll probably be shrader). Any tubes should be fine. And no reason to replace the tires unless you notice significant wear. If you decide you want to replace them, then, yes, lots of people on this forum will have opinions about what you should get (if you share the size info).

If the tubes need replacement, check the tires for small sidewall cracks in the rubber from UV damage over the years. The tires probably should be replaced, then you will have new rubber on the road. Also, check the rubber strip around the wheel that protects your tube from the bike spokes. As suggested if you know your tire size, you may want to look at some puncture resistant tubes and tires for your planned use on city streets. You never know what you may encounter in the city. The others have suggested some good tire brands for you to consider. Enjoy your ride with your new rubber....

Continental makes excellent tires with puncture resistance and tubes with very reasonable pricing. Amazon has a decent selection, but when possible you should support your local bike shop. New tires and tubes for smooth riding and keep the old tires for backup if they are not damaged. Clean the bike thoroughly, removing all rust. Chains are critical equipment so replace it if in doubt after cleaning.
