Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That's what I'm seeing, too. The coils springs are for the fore-aft movement, and the balls are for side-to-side movement.

I lied. I did the shopping but didn’t oil the chain. Went for a ride instead. Maybe I’ll oil it tomorrow.

Definitely worth a 5 mile trip. Their stock varies a lot. You never know what you’ll find.

There is an Aldi that opened up near us about 4 years ago, I have yet to check it out. Between Wegman's and Trader Joe's, I don't know if I am missing out on much.

The guy with the rocker plate is a serious cyclist. He is also a very nice guy. He took over from me as "Ride Director" for our bike club, for which I am very grateful.

Btw, I know it was mentioned by that humble guy @datlas, but congrats to him on the trifecta last week. I just saw it. Chapeau!

I will stand and be counted among the idiots.

Thing works really well. I really like how fan speed ramps up with the power. Looks cool too.

The device in the corner looks kinda like a guillotine.

Here is my budget friendly fan setup. It's the Saturn of fans. Old, cheap, clunky, but functional.

p.s. notice the background on the laptop?? That's me and mrs datlas in Girona. Must return soon.

That's a water rower.

That room was our kids' playroom when they were young. It evolved into a grown-up room as they hit high school. Across the hall is the "media" room where they hung out and played video games, etc.

It's been cold enough in my garage that I ride the first 10 minutes without a fan at all, then I turn the one on the left on Low, and maybe turn the other one on if I'm doing any "climbing", or if I race, since I can reach it easily.

Yeah, wives have a knack for doing that.

The bike shop said “let’s deal” on the fan and I said that I’ll check back tomorrow after I run it by my wife one more time.

I did and now I’m even more confused and depressed. It’s been a long time since she acted this way, literally years. I must have been really bad this year.

I’m really interested in the Kickr Climbing thingamajig. How good of a simulator is it? Can I pair it with a Zwift Hub? I scored 2 fans from Amazon on Cyber Monday and am happy so far. Not sure I would want to be dependent on a fan that’s relies on my own exertion…

The rjones28 indoor training facility does not feature smart fans.
