Tandem on trains in Norway?
We're hoping to do a Fjord tour in Norway this August - conditions permitting. Wondering if anyone knows if tandems are allowed on trains. There are several tours that start outside of Bergen and suggest taking a train to the starting town of Voss. From searching the web it looks like reservations are required to bring a bike onto a train but it states that this is specific to regular bikes and fails to mention whether tandems are allowed. Any tips or suggestions for touring fjords in Norway also appreciated.

Hi - I realize this is a bit old, but stumbled across it. It is a bit tricky to find information on this, and it might be available only in norwegian, byt the website of Vy, the current train operator out of Bergen, states that tandem bikes are generally not allowed, specifying that they can not be brought from Bergen to Voss, unfortunately.
I am not allowed to paste links yet, but if you go to www dot vy dot no, choose english language and then search for "tandem", you find the information by scrolling to the bottom of the page.
Good luck anyway!
Best, Neru
