Weinmann 610 barrel adjusters ?

Hello , putting my friends Raliegh Comp back together and there doesn't seem to be any barrel adjuster at the rear bridge. I don't think I misplaced it. Was this the original setup ?. Thank you .

Yeah, Raleigh supplied them with a barrel adjuster that had a slim enough end to fit into the hole in the brake bridge. I think you could use an aftermarketadjusting ferule designed for use with rear derailleurs. You might have to drill out the brake bridge hole just a little bit. Otherwise, you will need to find something at your local co-op.

Someone lost the OEM barrel adjuster (look on the floor where it was worked on last).
DO NOT go drilling the loop bridge, find an old Simplex DT control set (thousands are just lying about) and use it's adjusting barrel which fits perfectly instead.

that is one of those item that was rather unique to the Raleighs. I've been told that there were some Simplex downtube shift levers that used adjusting barrels that were the same size. I'd recommend looking for one of those before modifying the frame.

I've owned Raleighs of this type (and still do), and was always aware of how unique this part is. It's hard for me to imagine that anyone would lose (or get rid) of the barrel adjuster, even if they installed sidepull brakes. Why not put the part aside for whoever the next owner will be??

What they said - adjusters from Simplex changers work fine, I have 4 Raleighs with frames like that.

call Yellow Jersey
I have one stashed that came off my bike and and is partially broken out on the housing side, but I was able to replace it with original part by calling Yellow Jersey - this was a few years ago, but I suspect they still have them.

Yes, I thought of taking one off the Simplex levers and that is probably what I will do . Honestly I don't think I lost it , somewhere over the last 45 years someone else did. These things happen.

I tapped the bridge out to fit regular barrel adjusters.
