Newb introducing myself...
Hi all.
First - pics will show up when I get the requisite 10 posts. I promise!!
Second - this is likely the only part of the forum I’ll be posting. No interest in new stuff. Black components are hideous.
Third - I LOVE utility bikes. Sport/racing bikes are fab but I’m too old and fat-ish for them. Also -patina is good in my bike.
Fourth - The bikes.
- 1960-ish Legnano something Sport(?). It’s upright with Condorino bars, rear only derailleur and a sprinkling of Campy. I need some Mod 39 Universals. Hint, hint... (Yes, I’m very aware of the Condorino site. Good stuff!)
Recently acquired a loop frame Bianchi. Clueless on age but open to enlightenment! Futuro cranks, Super Rapid calipers, single speed. The chain is probably from a motorcycle. (Check out the Bianchi Venezia. Modern clone of my bike)
- 1984 Trek 420 from my best friend. NEVER for sale!!
- 1973 Schwinn Super Sport. Updating with 3 piece crank, double acting brakes, etc.
- 1999 Trek 8000 Mtn bike. Last year made in USA!
- Mid 80s Nishiki mixte
- Mid 90’s (?) Dyno Moto 7. Anyone? Anyone...?
- 1984 or 85 Schwinn Super Le Tour. Columbus tubing, Suntour drivetrain. I hear this thing has some collectibility??
- A couple others but they’re probably going away soon.
FWIW - I’m in the Portland, OR area. Bike city!!

Several active C&Vers just in your locale. You should join up for some rides. I truly enjoyed the few times i drove down to participate.

Thank you for both of those. I love Colnagos, De Rosas, etc but I don’t want to worry when I go out for a ride. I’ve driven fancy cars and the fear of getting rear-ended while driving one stresses me out. Applicable to bikes....
